About 28 Bay Teamers attended the CPE Nationals at Elk Grove June 11-13, 2004. About 225 dogs entered.

Hgh in Trial (HIT) for Standard: Three standard runs ranked by fewest faults, then by time. This award (and Reserve--2nd place) was given for each of 5 jump heights at each level (2 through 5, C, and the new category S). The HITs, for a total of 30 dogs, were eligible to run in the final Standard Championship run on Sunday (an optional run that didn't count towards the overall high in trial but awarded 5 more trophies). This Championship course was fast and flowing, similar to a Steeplechase, including two Aframes and a set of 12 weaves. Winner was determined first by faults and then by calculating percentage of runtime compared to SCT for dog's size.

HIT Games was calculated from the six games runs (1 each of Gamblers ("jackpot"), Snooker, Jumpers, Wildcard, Colors, Full House). Depending on the game, highest points/fewest faults, then time. HIT and Reserve (2nd place) games awards were given for each jump height, for all levels combined.

The Overall HIT award was given to the highest-scoring team across all classes, levels, and jump heights. This was earned by Katy Robertson and Twig (not a Bay Teamer, but a familiar face at our trials!).

Out of 78 trophies given (60 Standard HIT/Reserve, 10 Games HIT/Reserve, 5 Standard Championship trophies, Overall HIT/Reserve, Overall Vet HIT), Bay Teamers (making up only about 12% of the entries) took home 25, or about 32%.
