Trial committee compensation

At each trial, the trial committee is eligible for compensation. This article lists specific compensation quantity for each trial committee position.

For a general statement as to policy, see:

The Bay Team provides free runs or free entries to its members (and, in certain cases, nonmembers) who work more than the basic amount at trials. This policy has varied over time, so check back for updates.

Note: You can comment on this policy on our Bay Team forums in the members-only area. From the Sept 25, 2004 meeting minutes (out of date as of March 2, 2007. See trial worker compensation article for better description. The quantities are probably correct, but whether current or future needs updating.)

[edit] Trial committee and worker bee positions

  • Compensation for these positions must be taken at or before the trial for which the positions are being served. Not after.
  • One full day's free entry for one dog means exactly one of the following choices, recipient chooses: [1] one full day's free entry for one dog (including tourney classes) OR [2] one $50 cert OR [3] the equivalent of one full day's entry for one dog distributed over multiple days and/or multiple dogs (i.e. if a full day at a trial has 4 classes offered each day, and the recipient is taking two classes on one day and two classes on the next, then the recipient can have all four classes for free). (In the case of trials where different days have different costs, use the average cost over all the days.)
  • All workers get lunch. No single worker or trial committee member may have more than one lunch or more than two free weekend’s entry no matter how many positions they fill.
  • All trial committee members receiving a free entry are aware that the freebie compensates them in the event their job causes them to miss/compromise walkthroughs or runs. No ring will be delayed in any manner for a trial committee member who missed their walkthrough or run.
  • Just to be complete, what does "one free day" mean if the classes on that day are part of a multiday tournament event? "In the case of multiday tournament classes (Team, steeplechase, starters cup, regional grand prix), the cost of the entire tournament class is applied to the day that holds the first class of the tournament. E.g. the cost of a steeplechase class is included in the day that has round one scheduled, and the cost of a team tourney is included in the day holding the first team class."
