Directions
From Interstate 880 in Hayward
Take the Jackson Street (Route 92) exit east (toward the hills). At the first light, turn right onto Santa Clara.
(a)This becomes Harder Road. (early '03: Road work on Harder requires a short, labeled, detour; follow the signs off of and back onto Harder.) Follow Harder for about 2 miles, onto campus. Near the top of a steep hill at the stop sign, turn left. Within 100 turn left over the curb and (b)drive down the field access road. Drop your stuff *quickly* at ringside & move your vehicle. For traffic control purposes, this one-way access road continues beyond the field, around the hill, and back up to the main campus road. Parking on the grass adjacent to the rings is restricted; there is unlimited parking in Lot B up on the main road just beyond the field access road, or in Lot C further up Harder road.
From Highway 92 east across San Mateo Bridge:
Cross bridge onto Jackson St. in Hayward. Turn right at first signal (Santa Clara St.) and follow instructions from (a) above.
From Route 580 West
Take the Strobridge exit. At the bottom of the ramp, turn right and move immediately into the left lane. Turn left onto Castro Valley Blvd. Again get into the left lane. Turn left onto Foothill Blvd.
(c)Follow Foothill through downtown. At the Route 238/Jackson/Route 92 intersection, bear left onto Mission Blvd (Route 238). Go about 1/2 mile to Carlos Bee and turn left. Just before the first light (near the top of the hill), bear right into Cal State Hayward. Turn right at the stop sign. Go almost to the end; about 100 feet before the next stop sign, you'll see the field access road drop downhill and to your right. Follow (b) above.
From Route 580 East
Take the Route 238/Hayward exit. Stay in the left lane (signs indicate 238 Hayward South). After crossing over the highway, the road turns into Foothill Blvd. Follow the instructions above from (c).

Slow bits
Interstate 880 between San Jose & Hayward all the way often has miserably heavy traffic late in the day that seldom moves at the speed limit. Worst is often southbound towards 101, where 3 lanes become only 2.

Notes

Overview
Large lawn area. Room for 4 rings if space for crating, canopies, and such is carefully managed and if people set up right next to each other.
Parking
Can drive to one end of the ring to unload, although the field access road is narrow and unloading space is limited. Carts are helpful. In addition, you must exit out a very long one-way access road. Limited parking is available ringside; for example, the Bay Team reserves it for show committee members. Primary parking is Lot B, entrance near the field access road entrance. Overflow parking is in Lot C, up main road (Harder). Also Lot A? (I don't know the location.)
Restrooms
Portapotties must be brought in.
Dog romping
Limited weedy/grassy area at one end of the ring site.
Shade/Shelter
None.
Camping
Overnight parking is in Lot C. There are no hookups; however, the portapotties will be accessible at night, and I think there are regular restrooms available somewhere on campus near Lot C (not sure where). Tent camping unlikely--
Food
Student union across the road & up the hill with assorted fast food & sandwiches occasionally open on Saturdays. Don't count on it. Nearest other food off campus and requires driving.
