NOTE: This site will probably never be used for agility trials again because of its small size and the distance that people had to haul their equipment. See the Sonora site instead. - ELF 3/13/01

Slow bits
Good portions of the highways for many miles around Jamestown are one lane in each direction, winding roads without many opportunities to pass slow traffic. Although the speed limit is 55, there seem to be many sightseers going much slower. Have patience, drive carefully, don't get stressed--it's a beautiful drive.

Notes

Overview
A small, quiet, pleasant grassy schoolyard near an historic, active Sierras Gold Country town. It has barely room for 2 rings, and crowded set-up around the only space at either end of the rings.
Parking
Parking on a quiet street several hundred feet from the ring. You'll need a cart or lots of energy to haul your equipment in.
Restrooms
Permanent restrooms in the school not far from the rings, but the port-a-potties set up close to the ring are much more convenient.
Dog romping
There are a couple of large lawns for running your dogs.
Shade/Shelter
No shade or shelter.
Camping
You can set up a tent onsite for no cost. No showers. Very limited street parking (no hookups) for RVs. There is excellent RV/tent camping 3 miles away at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds in Sonora, $15/night for RVs.
Food
Nothing onsite or within easy walking distance. Many nifty restaurants in the touristy area of downtown for dinner, a long walk or short drive away. Not sure about fast food anywhere in the vicinity...
Notes
BThis is cozy site. Don't plan on spreading out; be courteous and stay as compact as possible to fit everyone on the same lawn as the rings. But this makes it a bit more friendly and comradely.
