You can add a new article (new page) by doing one of the following:
- Make a link using your intended title on an appropriate page:
- Go to a page where you want a link to your new article. For example, if you are User:Jdoe, you could go to your user page (click Jdoe at the very top of this page).
- Click the edit tab for that page.
- Type a link like this: [[foo]], including the square brackets--use EXACTLY the phrasing and capitalization that you want for your new page's title.
- click the Show preview button to see what it looks like, then click Save page to save the page.
- Now you have a link to an article that doesn't currently exist--see the next choice.
- Click a link that doesn't currently have an article (usually shows up in red); for example, click this: foo.
- In the "Editing Foo" page, just type text, click the Show preview button to see what it will look like, then click Save page to save the page. Done! (Please don't create the foo page! Thanks.)
- Use the search for a term or phrase that doesn't exist; for example, search for "foo".
- When you see one of these messages:
- "There is no page titled "foo". You can create this page.", click "create this page."
- "You searched for foo", click "foo".
- In the "Editing Foo" page, just type text, click the Show preview button to see what it will look like, then click Save page to save the page. Done!
- When you see one of these messages:
