CPE general briefing March 2004
From BayTeam
Ellen's notes as chair for The Bay Team's March 2004 CPE trial General Briefing:
Argh, a delay in getting started--last time the Saturday general briefing took about 15-20 minutes. WOuld be nice if it could be much shorter.
Things that I've been thinking about that should be covered (you guys know all this but as Prior CPE Chair I'm going to butt in anyway):
Rule changes:
- Contact zones on teeter & dogwalk are now 42" and are marked on the *sides* of the obstacles with colored tape. (Aframe has always been 42".)
- Rule change for '04: "Other" faults" are now limited to 1 in classes that allow them (used to be 2).
- For anyone who might be timing or scribing: all dogs must get a time written down unless the judge explicitly says no.
Facilities:
- Food location
- Restroom location
- Water for dogs location (drinking & wetting down--did we ever resolve either of these?)
Awards: (Arlene except last one--)
- HIT; dog must be entered in std to determine level. Based on Q's with placements as tiebreakers. Nice plaque & photo at the end of Sunday.
- Self-serve ribbons/location
- Completing a full-level title (brief explanation) earns special ribbon--fill out form
- Move-ups OK...location of forms/where to put/by when (Karey?)
General:
- Everyone please help!
- You must pick up after your dog--and anyone else's that you see!
- Goal is HAVE FUN
- See you at the Nationals! (Only 2 Qs, any level any class)
Judges:
- Introduce & let them say something if they want
