Site specs

  • Over-all site size: about 16 acres
  • Field size: There is one horse arena larger than regulation size.

There is plenty of space to set up at least 2 more rings.

  • Field description: Horse arena with excellent footing. I am a little concerned about the rest of the space because the footing is not 100% perfect. She has offered to have the surface graded for us if we decided to use the facility which would mean that the surface would be perfectly flat, but it would not be grass and would be dirt.

  • Restrooms: She has 2 portable bathrooms that we can use. These can be moved on site. They feature sinks, running water and flushing toilets.
  • Lights: none
  • Parking: Plenty of parking available and it is very close to the rings. People could set up and work right from their cars if they wanted to.
  • Tents: ??
  • RVs: There is plenty of room for RV's but no hookups. Half Moon Bay has 2 RV parks.
  • Access for loading/unloading: There are 2 different driveways into the place, so accessibly is not a problem.
  • Trailers OK on field?: (presumably OK to have them anywhere on the fields)
  • Power: ?
  • Water for drinking & dog hosing: She has water on site for the doggies but asks that we bring our own otherwise. They are on well water and this could be a very dry year.
  • Dog exercise area: There is a round pen where doggies could be exercised off leash.
  • Crating: work from cars or (lots of space?)
  • Extra space: Lots of very nice flat space for vendors, score tables, etc.
  • Climate: on the coast in July; should be anywhere from 10 to 20 degrees cooler than inland.
  • Site extras: She also has a very nice fire pit that we could use if we wanted to do a barbecue.

  • Hotels: Half Moon Bay which is about 15 minutes away has several hotels that take dogs
  • Neighbors (who might be bothered by noise): It is a beautiful site, nice and private and no one will care about how many dogs we have or how much noise we make.
