I sent email to a Bay Team list, and it never showed up. Why?
This can happen for various reasons:
- Some spam blocker along the way. It could be captured as you send it, as it gets to the Bay Team mail server, or as it returns to you. What to do:
- Very hard to diagnose. Ask the webmaster whether it looks likhttp://www.bayteam.org/wiki/About_our_memberse it went through to anyone else. The webmaster can also check the online archives.
- You sent it from an email address that's different from what we have listed as your primary email address. In many cases, the bay team email server is set to discard it automatically. (Because some lists get so much junk.) What to do:
- Check your monthly automated password reminder email to see what email address we use for you. Resend the message from the correct email address.
- If you can't figure out/don't know what email address we have for you, tell the webmaster to what list you sent the email, when, and what email address you sent it from.
I sent email to a Bay Team member, and s/he never got it or never responded. Why?
Because of the large amount of spam that gets sent to invalid Bay Team addresses, we just don't even try to handle them or bounce them any more. They just go into the big zero in the sky.
Check the Bay Team members and dogs page to be sure that the person is still a member and that you spelled his or her name correctly. If you think it's a correct email address and you're still having trouble, contact the Bay Team list administrators.
