Tips for spectators

I'd like to watch one of your trials. May I? And may I bring my dog, too?

Yes! and Yes! Spectators/visitors/audiences are welcome.

  • Admission: Usually there is no admission fee (see individual events for exceptions).
  • Seating: Usually there are no bleachers or available seating so bring your own.
  • Food and drink: Usually there are no concessions so bring your own drinks and food.
  • Dogs: Dogs are welcome if they are leashed and don't disturb the dogs that are competing. You must clean up after your dog.
  • Schedule: Competition starts by 8AM each day of the show and runs until mid to late afternoon all days.

Could put links here to info about various classes, judges signals, etc like we used to hand out to people.

When I come to see an event, what should I expect?

Come, but understand it is a performance (competition) event, not a public spectacle or a "dog show." We are friendly and want to share our interest in agility, but Handlers and dogs are there to do a job for which they have paid cash money, and trained long and hard.

  • Do not feed or pet dogs without asking. The dogs are excited. So are the handlers.
  • Ask someone what's going on, But NOT someone working in or entering the ring!
  • Do not enter the ring if you are not entered/running in that class. Your children, friends, dogs, should not enter the ring either. There are enough obstacles out there already.
  • Caterer may or may not have extra food to sell. Please do not expect to be able to buy lunches for which competitors already have paid.

Agility competitions and events

When is the Bay Team's next agility event?

Visit our Portal:Events page.

Is there a calendar of all agility events?

We have a popular crib sheet (Karey's Calendar) for events within driving distance of the San Francisco Bay area. You can find more info about other clubs events on each club's page. There's also a searchable calendar on the Clean Run site.

What are the "sanctioning organizations"?

Are those the ones who make up the rules and award the titles?

Yes. Organizations that accept dogs of any ancestry include USDAA, NADAC, ASCA, CPE.

Member information

How can someone join the Bay Team?

See Bay Team membership.

Someone in the Club recently lost a dog or a family member. Do we do anything for them?

If our Sunshine Officer hears about it, we send a card and make a donation in the name of the loved one. Please, please let her know if you hear of some such loss; don't assume that she or the board automatically knows everything about everyone. Wish we did, but we don't.

When is our next meeting?

We try to remember to update our online internal calendar, or check the news on the Main Page.

How do I get reiumbursed for club expenses?

See expense reporting.
