Interesting extracts from Club meeting minutes
From BayTeam
Here are some interesting notes extracted from Club minutes by ELF one long rainy week a few years back. Note the recurring "incorporation" theme? (This is not a complete list of decisions made or policies decided on; just things that I thought were fun to look back on.)

[edit] August 3, 1997
- The President notes that we should be conscious of our membership which is not accessible via email. (We have 29 members on email and 8 not.)
- Board approved a request to purchase a new Duncan triple jump and a double jump.
- We discussed that we have no reliable way of providing equipment for the second ring at our trials and approved a rental fee schedule for members who have equipment that they're willing to bring.
- Adopt-a-jumps must either be brought to every trial in competition-ready state or turned over to Aileen to be raffled off for money.
- The lowest fees that Ellen Finch found for setting up our own domain name (bayteam.org) and web site (currently we're piggybacking off of member Melissa deMille's site) were $130 a year plus another $290/year. These figures alarmed some members, and raised the issue of what benefit(s) the club gains from having its own domain name and web page. Specifically:
- If the benefit is publication of our premiums, then this may be accomplished in other ways, for example using another club member’s web address.
- Some questioned how many of our mailing list would actually use it.
- If the benefit is dissemination of agility information, then this may already be accomplished by other dedicated web sites such as www.dogpatch.org
- One way to offset the cost of the web page might be to offer advertising space.
- No decision was made.
- Karey and Aileen will research what we need for a vendor policy for our trials, since some now want to come to our trials.
- The issue of whether we should limit entries to our trials was debated--again--and we will make a decision at the next meeting.
- Negotiations are ongoing as to which northern Cal club will hold a Grand Prix this year. We had it last year.
[edit] September 7, 1997
- We learn that Rob pronounces his last name “Mi-HALL-ski”.
- Was decided to prepare two tool boxes, one for each ring, each fully supplied with hammer, tape measure(s), survey tape, tent stakes for tunnels, golf tees, etc. Will brightly mark these toolboxes and their tools with ring-color-coordinated tape (pink or blue).
- Jennifer Jones brought a preliminary t-shirt design of a dog jumping over the Golden Gate bridge.
- More web site discussion: a proposal was approved that we could afford our own web site and domain name if we could pay for it with advertising fees. Ellen will research.
- Decided to continue doing raffles, deciding at each trial, although we no longer depend on the income to make a profit.
- Haute Dawgs and Bay Team discussed alternating years for DAM and Grand Prix between the clubs. HD has never done a DAM so would like to try it. Fresno has expressed an interest, too, so maybe each club would do one every 3 years instead of every other year.
- Nancy, Jennifer, and Ellen will see about whipping the bylaws into shape.

Just a note: Here are pictures of how accesses to our web site have increased over the past 3 years. (We had a web site for 2 years before that, but don't have stats for that time.)
Total page accesses per week: http://www.bayteam.org/history/images/WebUseApr00toJul03.gif (Web usage over 3 years: increasing steadily)
Home page accesses per week (probably a better indicator of the number of users): http://www.bayteam.org/history/images/HomePgUseApr00toJul03.gif (Home page accesses 3 years increasing steadily)
