[edit] General Info on Agility
- The Dogpatch Dog Agility Page: One of the most comprehensive sites on agility. General information, FAQs, training, photos, products, e-mail lists, and more.
- Agility Ability: This site has grown and expanded so that it is now in the same class as Dogpatch. Too much information to list here - check it out.
- Clean Run: Clean Run publishes a great monthly magazine and sells a wide range of agility products, book and videos. They also maintain a comprehensive Info Center with trial calendars, approved judges, clubs and schools, organizations, and more.
- Other Agility Clubs: Part of the Dogpatch; List of agility clubs that have their own Web pages. Also a link to a list of all known agility clubs and schools.
- Agile Dogs E-mail List: If you don't mind sifting through an extra 50 or so e-mail messages per day, there's a very active Agility mailing list available to which you can subscribe. This is a great source of information, with topics ranging from joint care to hydration to canopy selection to simple brags from individuals. To subscribe, send mail to [[mailto: LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM LISTSERV@APPLE.EASE.LSOFT.COM]] with the command: SUBSCRIBE AGILEDOGS. Be sure to read the guidelines when you are accepted -- the Admins really try hard to keep the list on topic.
[edit] Sanctioning Organizations
The following organizations sanction events (provide rules for & authorize clubs) that allow all able-bodied dogs to participate:
- Australian Shepherd Club of America (ASCA): Follow the original NADAC rules; wider-open courses, three classes.
- Canine Performance Events (CPE): A newer organization, friendlier to newcomers, less-motivated dogs, or less-agile dogs, but a variety of games that become more challenging at higher levels.
- DOCNA: Newest of the org's.
- North American Dog Agility Club (NADAC). Primarily for fast dogs who work well at a distance. (That's Ellen's opinion.)
- United States Dog Agility Organization (USDAA): The original, and biggest, North American all-dog agility organization.
[edit] Equipment and supplies
- Identi-tape.com - Dozens of colors of duct tape and flagging tape ("ring tape")
