Recycling Czar

The Recycling Czar job needs to be coordinated closely with the Trash Czar job. 5/28/1009

  • Determine what is to be done with all the recycleables after the event. At Prunedale they are to be left in their clear bags piled up NEXT to the trash dumpster, where the little leaguers can come get them.
  • Purchase enough clear bags (for recycleables) and black bags (for trash, if the trash czar and the recycles czar are the same person) to cover weekend. Verify what size bags to get, to fit in the trash cans.
  • during set-up: distribute clear recycling bags to ALL the trash cans, and post signage on the cans about recycling.
  • If recycling elves are used, educate them and assign them and manage them and pay them. (find out how to get to the raffle tix and lunch tix supply at each ring, or get dedicated supply.)
  • Monitor recycling bags, remove/replace them and transport them to NEXT TO dumpster whenever they are more than half full (in te case of Prunedale).
  • During tear-down: collect/retain signage. Transport all recycling bags to NEXT TO the dumpsters. Maybe leave one clear bag near the equipment trailers for people to dispose of their last recycling generated during clean-up, and the recycle czar can delegate someone to make sure that last bag is taken to NEXT TO the dumpsters (or home).
