[edit] Summary
The Bay Team works to ensure that there are plenty of agility trials for all dogs in the greater San Francisco Bay Area. We exist to make agility trials available within driving distance for Bay Area members, and to make local agility a reality for all dogs, not just for those in limited breed registries. We host (and promote) only those trials and organizations that allow mixed-breed as well as purebred dogs to compete. We encourage and support responsible dog ownership.
[edit] What are we?
We are a nonprofit public benefit corporation organized under the California Nonprofit Public Benefit law for public purposes.
The Bay Team's goals are to promote the sport of dog agility and to provide agility trials for all purebred and mixed-breed dogs.
We are the only dog agility club in the greater San Francisco Bay Area that sponsors agility trials for all dogs. We put on some of the biggest USDAA events in the country and generally serve as a local resource for spreading the word about the wonderful sport of agility.
[edit] Who are we?
Our present membership comes from all over northern California as well as from other states and Canada. Our dogs are beginners and winners of national tournaments, purebreds and All-Americans, family pets and show dogs, rescues and dogs purchased from carefully selected breeders. Our humans range from teenagers to grandparents, students to trainers, occasional participants to full-time enthusiasts. Our common passion is enjoying spending time with our four-legged partners.
The Bay Team Board of Directors manages the direction of the club and fees and expenses related to our ongoing activities. Trial Committees vary by event; they each start as much as a year in advance to plan and execute our many annual events.

Our Bay Team bylaws state that our goal is to ensure ongoing public benefit from the sport of dog agility in a spirit of good sportsmanship through programs and activities:
- To promote good public relations through sports participation and recreation by conducting licensed agility matches and sanctioned agility trials and tests open to all dogs, whether purebred or not.
- To promote responsible dog ownership by providing training and competitions open to the general public, and by conducting agility demonstrations for the public, humane societies, and similar organizations.
- To encourage and promote national and international competition in the sport of dog agility by providing support for superior teams of athletes.
- To lease, own, purchase, hold, and maintain real property and other property of any and all kinds in the State of California to accomplish these ends.
In addition to our dog-agility competitions:
- We occasionally provide demos for other charitable organizations' fundraisers.
- We donate annually to worthwhile dog-related charitable causes, such as the Katrina emergency rescue effort, local rescue groups, or disease research.
- Our web site provides an up-to-date summary of dog-related legislation news, to keep our members and the community at large informed.
